Grasshoppers - The Slender Groundhopper

First seen on Thursday 9th August 2018 at Croome

The Slender Groundhopper is a small (1cm) grasshopper-like insect, which is not a grasshopper. Their shoulder shield is longer than a grasshopper's and they are silent. They eat mosses and other small plants. They like damp, bare ground with mud - this one was found by the river. It seemed to hop vertically (but that is just my observation).
