The Black Guillemot is quite a rare bird in the UK, found on the west coast of Wales, Scotland and Ireland. They are usually found in sheltered waters, often in harbours. In summer plumage they are all black, with a large white patch on their wings. They have bright red feet and when they open the mouth (as in the second photo), you can see the inside is bright red too.
