Finches and Buntings - The House Sparrow

First seen on Tuesday 3rd December 2019 at Holy Island

Another very familiar visitor to most garden feeders. The best place to spot these house sparrows is when you are walking through the village. These were on a low roof, rummaging around in the moss. The male (first photo) is a contrasting chestnut and grey. The female (second photo) is all-over brown usually with a broad eye stripe.

This cheeky chap was on a picnic table, looking for scraps - a very common place to find house sparrows.
