Birds of Prey - The Buzzard

First seen on Wednesday 19th August 2020 at Druridge Pools

Most of the times you see a buzzard it will be soaring in the sky, often too high up to make out much detail. You will also be able to hear its cry from a great distance. They will perch on posts and trees, often old dead trees. The buzzard is one of the larger birds of prey and can be recognised by its broad wing shape and patterning. Their wings usually have a dark area at the front, a pale band in the middle and a dark trailing edfe. They also have a pale U-shape on their chest. This one was being mobbed by two crows.
