Very common in gardens, hence its name. The Garden Spider (Araneus diadematus) is also know as the Cross Spider or Diadem Spider, due to the white cross on its abdomen. Nettles and Brambles are good places to see spiders. The Garden Spider is a member of the Araneidae family of Orbweb Spiders.
