Waders - The Green Sandpiper

First seen on Thursday 1st August 2024 at Druridge Pools

The Green Sandpiper is not a common bird at Druridge Pools. There were two in the middle of the Budge Field, but quite distant. It is very similar to the Common Sandpiper, but lacks the white shoulder straps. It also has a white eye stripe which goes from beak to eye, then fades out. It has very fine speckles, but this one is too distant to see.
