Finches and Buntings - The Greenfinch

First seen on Monday 2nd November 2020 at Druridge Pools

The Greenfinch is very common bird to see on feeders. They often hog the feeders and fend off other birds while they gorge themselves. They can be seen along the treeline and in the hedgerow running through the Links. Male and female are similar, but the male has much more yellow in his colouring. Young greenfinches are quite spotty (as is the case with many young birds). In the spring they sing with a long musical trills.
