There are two species of Partridge in the UK, the Red-legged Partridge, which was introduced for hunting, and the Grey Partridge, which is our native species. Sadly the Grey Partridge is becoming increasingly scarce. I've see these on several occasions on the Links, usually flushed by walkers. They quickly fly to another spot, so aren't easy to photograph.
