Mammals - The Harbour Porpoise

First seen on Thursday 18th November 2021 at Druridge Pools

The Harbour Porpoise is actually more numerous than the Dolphin, but being small and shy it is much less common to actually see one. Other than their smaller size, the most obvious difference is the dorsal fin. Dolphins have a taller sickle-shaped fin, whereas the Porpoise has a smaller triangular-shaped fin. These two were swimming in the bay, viewed from the beach.
