The Rook is one of the larger members of the Crow family, yet you are unlikely to see one at Druridge on the dunes or pools as they favour the surrounding farmland. They nest in treetop colonies ( rookeries). Rooks are similar in size and appearance to crows, apart from their beak and face, which can be very white, as you can see in these photos. The white face also makes their beak appear to be larger than it actually is.
