The Ruby-tailed Wasp, is in a family of wasps called a Jewelled Wasps - clearly having a very apt name. They are also called Cuckoo Wasps as they lay their eggs in the nests of other insects. The Ruby-tailed Wasp is quite small, just 1cm long, but is very easy to see, as the metallic colours reflect the sunlight and it almost glows with blue/green and ruby colours.
