Thrushes and Chats - The Stonechat

First seen on Wednesday 11th March 2020 at Druridge Pools

The Stonechat can usually be seen in meadows, often near water. They are relatively easy to see, as they tend to perch at the top of small plants, or on fences. Stonechats are so called because they make a chat-chat noise like two stones being hit together. Male and female are quite different, the male (here) having a very dark head and more vibrant colours.
