Swallow, Swift and Martins - The Swallow

First seen on Sunday 19th July 2020 at Druridge Pools

Swallows can often be seen along the north east coast. These were flying around the dunes at Druridge Bay. Swallows can be seen flying low and fast over the grass, catching insects. Swallows are easily distinguished from Martins as they have a red face and long tail streamers. The males have really long streamers, the females less so, and the juveniles have relatively short tails and a dull red face. Male and female are shown here.
