Moths - The Yellow Shell Moth

First seen on Saturday 11th July 2020 at Druridge Pools

About 2-3 cm across, an average sized moth. They are found well under cover in grasses, and at Druridge Bay in the dunes. However, they do fly in the daytime, and they are bright yellow when flying so making them one of the easier moths to spot. The first photo show one in a pose more like a butterfly with its wings spread, however they would normally be found as in the photo below, with their wings forming a triangle.
