The Zebra Spider (Salticus scenicus) has a very distinctive striped pattern which gives it its name. It is a species of jumping spider. It has eight eyes, but there are two large forward facing ones, which give it excellent binocular vision to help it gauge distances for jumping on its prey. They are fairly common, but more so in the south of England.
