Wasps - The Netelia Infractor

First seen on Wednesday 27th July 2022 at Wallington

Netelia Infractor is one of a vast number (tens of thousands) of species of Ichneumon Wasps. These wasps are parasitic and prey on caterpillars of butterflies and moths. Obviously with so many varieties, identification is not easy, so my labels for these Ichneumon Wasps are just 'best guess'. This one is mainly red, with blacks and yellow-ish face. This one was very active and didn't want his photo taken!
