Quite common in most places with flowers, this bumblebee has another apt name. It is all over black, with just a red tip to its tail. Pollen is taken back to the nest to feed the young. The one below (found in the Walled Garden) is a female - a queen or most likely worker. Males are quite different to the females, as well as the red tail, they have yellow fur around their head. The one in the second photo was in the meadows.
