Thrushes and Chats - The Robin

The robin is the classic garden bird. You will see them at most National Trust estates. You will also hear them singing close by you. They are very people friendly and especially like hanging around near restaurants - they are good scavengers. Male and female Robins are both alike, so you can never be sure which one you are looking at. Juvenile Robins are quite spotty, and lack the red breast.


 

If you hear a melodic song nearby, look around, and it will usually be a Robin singing...
