First seen on Saturday 28th May 2022 at Wallington

The Sand Wasp is a member of the Digger Wasp family, named for the way they dig nests in sand. This one however is possibly Ectemnius cephalotes and digs its nest in soft wood. They are normally found in woodland areas, especially near dead wood.
