Butterflies - The Speckled Wood

First seen on Wednesday 2nd October 2019 at Wallington

The Speckled Wood, as the name suggests can be found on the edges of woodland areas, often in speckled sunlight. They are one of the earliest butterflies to appear, and can be seen from April, right through into the autumn. Male and female are quite similar, the females just having slightly larger and brighter yellow/cream patches.
