This is the caterpillar of the Angle Shades Moth. It is a very bright green caterpillar, the sort you often see in bird's mouths when they are feeding their chicks. The ones that survive will turn into a rather attractive large moth with angular patterns of brown making it look like a crumpled autumn leaf.
