The Black Guillemot in summer plumage is easily recognised - jet black with a white patch on its side. This one is a young one moulting, so is rather messy and not so easy to identify. It has distinctive bright red feet and bright red mouth, which you can see in the second photo. It was found in the outer harbour area in front of the Castle.
