Finches and Buntings - The Bullfinch

First seen on Monday 9th December 2019 at Cragside

The bullfinch is not a common bird, although they can be spotted now and again in the woodland areas. This one was actually in the trees by the car park. The male is a bright orangy-pink colour, but the female (below) is a more subtle beige colour. They love eating seeds and flower buds from trees.
