Bees - The Clarke’s Mining Bee

Clarke's Mining Bee is one of the early bees, flying as early as February. They like willow trees and sandy soil. These were found on the edge of Nelly's Moss Lake. the one below is the slightly larger female, with furry dark red thorax. the males (in the second photo) are much more drab.
