Crab Spiders (Thomisisdae) get their name from their first two pairs of legs, which being longer makes them look a bit like a crab. They also have a crab-like sideways walk. Rather than spin a web, crab spiders lie in wait for prey to pass by. This one was found by Nelly's Moss Lake. Its latin name is Xysticus Cristatus and they are very common - they are known as the Common Crab Spider.
