The Golden-ringed Dragonfly is quite a rare one, found more in than western half of the UK. Being of the largest dragonflies and having dramatic black and yellow markings, with green eyes, makes this dragonfly very easy to identify. Males and females have very similar markings, so at fist glance look identical. This one is a female, as she was ovipositing in the stream between the two Nelly's Moss lakes.
