There are two species of Partridge in the UK, the Grey Partridge, which is our native species and the Red-legged Partridge, which was introduced for hunting. Red-legged Partridges can be identified by their distinctive plumage, with striking black, brown and white strips on their wings and neck. As well as red legs they have a bright red beak and eyes. This one was up near Nelly Moss Lake, on the Carriage Drive - taken through the car windscreen, hence the blurry photo!
