Warblers, Crests and Flycatchers - The Whitethroat

First seen on Monday 20th June 2022 at Cragside

Like Chiffchaffs and many other songbirds, Whitethroats sit in the top of small trees and sing in the spring. Their song is a repeating, short scratchy warble. Their name is another name that describes their features very well, in that they do have a very white throat. This one was one of several heard singing on the Tumbleton Lake walk.
