Dippers, Dunnocks, Wrens and Starlings - The Wren

First seen on Friday 4th February 2022 at Cragside

This tiny bird is more often heard than seen, with its very loud song with a trill at the end. Wrens can be found all over the estate and can often be seen flying very low between bushes, and rummaging around on the ground. Normally, the best place to get a clear view (as with most of the garden birds) is near the bird feeders, although they rarely feed on the feeders, they can often be seen below, or walking in and out of the dead wood on the ground. This Wren was seen on the fallen tree in Tumbleton Lake.
