About Holy Island

National Trust LinkLindisfarne Castle was originally built in Tudor times as a lookout fort. It was converted to a home in Edwardian times. When you walk from the car park to the Castle, you pass the harbour and shoreline, meadows and wetlands. From the Castle you can look out over the Priory, harbour, island and the North Sea. Holy Island is renowned for its wildlife. Click on the Oak Leaf to see the National Trust's website for Lindisfarne

My visits here are from 2019 onwards
