Moths - The Bright Bell Moth

First seen on Wednesday 14th July 2021 at Cragside

The Bright Bell moth (Eucosma hohenwartiana) is a member of the Tortricidae family of moths, found in grassy meadows. It is fairly common in Northumberland. Identification with all these grass moths is very tricky, and not really possible with the naked eye. The pattern to look for is the wave-shape of chevrons on the rear of the wing.
